Ep #60: Celebrity Death Week

June 29th, 2009 by davidtheday

Four celebrities died this past week, two men (Ed McMahon, Billy Mays) and two women (Farrah Fawcett, Michael Jackson.) We have a dedication to all of them.

Also, this was the first week with the Something Planet World Record Challenge in which Endless Mike tries to drink a whole gallon of chocolate milk in under an hour! Does he make it? Listen to find out! (Video coming soon). And if that isn’t mysterious for you enough, we talked about Unidentified Flying Humanoids during mysteriousnesses! Creepy!!!!

We have t-shirts for sale, and we’ll have a link posted here very shortly.

Ep #47: John Likes What?!

March 30th, 2009 by davidtheday

John is such a good actor. He fools us everyday pretending not to like his favorite thing in the world. In fact, this week, it’s pretty much all we talked about. Okay, so that may not be true, but it’s all I’m going to talk about here in this little blurb.

He likes it on everything: ice cream, pasta, his mouth, whatever.

It makes us all laugh thinking about it, but he’s sooooo into it, and that makes him different than everyone else. He should be shunned. If you see him, shun him. Or stone him, whatever makes you happy.

Ep #38: Awwwww!

January 26th, 2009 by davidtheday

John J hopes a certain bartender just dies. She was very rude and demanded a tip (which John had given her already). The nerve of people! The title is dedicated to her, and you’ll see why when you give a listen.

Endless Mike passed his Mentally Challenged Challenge rights off to John J for some Presidential trivia and you’ll never guess who won. As far as music, we have some fresh tracks from Badda Skat/DJ Pure Fire, The Stick Martin Show, Elevated, and NOTE.

And holy shit. We talked about the Mothman again…WITH THE LIGHTS OFF. It was scary.

Also, we’d like to thank our newest listeners as well as our long-time fans for listening to the show and participating–whether it’s questions for Citizens of Something Planet, leaving us iTunes reviews, calling our voicemail 813-964-PLANET (7526), or just shooting us an e-mail something@somethingplanet.com to tell us how much you love and/or hate us, we really appreciate it. Our 1-year anniversary is coming up and so is our new site which will be action-packed! So from us to you, thanks! Except that bartender…fuck her.

Ep #35: Crystal of Emotion

January 5th, 2009 by davidtheday

Stuey B and John J got into a fight before the show this week, and Endless Mike turned into a human mood ring, almost crying over their shouting match.

We revisited Shadow People and we all had trouble sleeping later on (no joke).

We also had some really good questions sent in this week, so take a listen.

Ep #33: Merry Rapemas

December 22nd, 2008 by davidtheday

So early in the podcast, John J said the most blasphemous one could possibly say. Blasphemous, but true.

We introduced a new segment that will, on occasion, replace Weirdo of the Week and the Mentally Challenged Challenge… Something Planet’s One Night Stand: a Dating Game. Our first contestant was Endless Mike, and the winner, Erika, won a date with Endless Mike and a gift card to TGIFriday’s.

Mysteriousnesses dealt with Crystal Skulls and possibly crystal meth too…

Ep #32: Tommy Boy

December 15th, 2008 by davidtheday

Our guest this week was Tommy Simms from Automatic Loveletter! He played some of his own beautiful original music , and we had a great time.

We went to Next Big Thing and met Flogging Molly, and also saw Soulfound, Trace of Day, and Drew Street Mary at a rock show last Saturday. They all rocked the house down, and Endless Mike showed his appreciation by drunkenly fist-pumping wildly into the air for a good two hours.

Mysteriousnesses this week dealt with Atlantis (the mythical island-state, not the gay/lesbian cruise line)!

AUTOMATIC LOVELETTER FANS: We want to hear from you! Leave a comment! Give us some feedback!

Ep #26: All Shallow’s Eve

November 3rd, 2008 by davidtheday

Nah, we’re not really that shallow…okay, maybe sometimes. We interviewed Brooke Pridemore and Dan Costello this show. These guys are really great musicians and funny on stage too, so you definitely need to check their music out.

We went to several Halloween parties over the week and got some mixed remarks (and propositions) from to our costumes.

And in good haunting fun, Stuey B disappears halfway through this episode! Creepy!

Listen up!

Ep #24: Who’s Haunting Something Planet?

October 20th, 2008 by davidtheday

We had a special guest on mysteriousnesses this week! Jeff Belanger called into the show to talk about his new book “Who’s Haunting the White House” available at all bookstores today!

We saw Tres Bien’s last show in Florida and it rocked! John J yelled at a bunch of people too, it was funny. Well, not at the time, but when you look back at these things, it is.

Also, the Corporate Report is back with Corporate Jerod and he’s pissed off!

Ep #17: Rosarita Jones

September 1st, 2008 by davidtheday

So the title has nothing to do with the podcast other than we use this fictious character’s voice in the show. It’s for our up and coming, untitled super hero animation coming soon to a YouTube account near you.

Anyway, the podcast was great. We played some really awesome songs, and we talked about some Victorian-era men who jump over tall buildings. Plus we played some of Tony’s music, so maybe he won’t hate me anymore.

So, despite David the Day’s Labor Day weekend sucking, the podcast was great.

Oh, and we find out that Obama is a Sith Lord and works for Darth Vader???

Ep #15: Shuttlecock?

August 18th, 2008 by davidtheday

This week, Harlow from the Stick Martin Show graced us with his presence and entertained us with some songs and his comedic stylings (though I’m pretty sure they were unintentional).

This came out a bit late because we recorded Monday night to have Harlow on the show.

We really need you guys who listen to call our voicemail or send us e-mails. We’re itching to hear from you… or maybe we’re itching because we laid on Harlow’s mattress…
