The guys from Studio Pilot were in our studio today, and gave us some great acoustic jams. We also realized our potential for setting up recording sessions with limited equipment. These guys had 3 vocalists, 2 guitars, and a keyboard. Until this episode, Not Tonight Josephine (from the last episode) had the biggest recording setup, but we had remembered to tell them to bring some extra mics and cables. Oops! But listen to these guys, great stuff!!!

Mysteriousnesses tackles a grave problem in the world of ocean travels: the Kraken. John J and David the Day were kayaking one later afternoon/early evening, and almost encountered a Kraken. Luckily, they got to the shore before the Shadow of Night crossed their path (the Kraken can’t swim in sunlight, duh.)

This is our 52nd episode, which means we’ve been doing this for a year. We can’t believe it either….PSYCHE! We knew we’d be here, though you might have doubted us.

John celebrated by cutitng his long hair off. Locks of Love wouldn’t take his hair, so he donated it to PETA who will give his hair to animals that lose their hair during lab testing. Can you imagine a chimp wearing John’s hair as a cape?

Such angst in our episode titles lately. Sorry. We’re just acting out because the next episode will be officially one-year of bringing you podcasting excellence. We’re externalizing our inner struggle of becoming older.

Let us know what you think of this episode. It was really strange for us. Probably because John and Mike had a safety meeting right before we started. Don’t judge them, they want to be safe. There are several bloopers partly because of this, and we’ve put them immediately after we play the last song.

John and David got into a debate over their putt-putt scores and they stopped talking to each other for a segment or two, and resulted in the episode title as well.

So, fuck you, too, John.

Ep #50: Fuck Greek Easter

David the Day’s birthday (3/22) and Stuey B’s birthday (3/23) were celebrated over the weekend. There were ribs, chicken, bloomin’ onions, cock rings, energy drinks, and Rocco the Roadie. Oh, and Paul Rudd.

During the recording of this episode, David the Day had the flu, and it sucked big time. There was also a big highway crash in the middle of recording and the Bayflight Emergency Helicopter landed on the road next to our studio.

Stories were told, and Justin got progressively dirtier as his consumption of Yuengling increased (weird). Our weekend was filled with kayaks, parties, and vomit.

We went off topic during mysteriousnesses this week, but it worked out in the end.

We started a new (short) segment this week called “Words of Wisdom” and I don’t want to spoil who reads the said Words, so I’ll let you find out. It’s right after the first song.

There’s a lovely segment on “porn snafus” or things that we don’t like about porn, it’s really insightful, please post your porn snafus as well. Also, since we were at the House of Blues in Downtown Disney for Flogging Molly, we talked about REAL ghosts haunting the Haunted House in the Magic Kingdom. We talked about Hitler and the Occult on mysterousnesses. Man, Hitler was a freak, and a vegitarian (same thing). We also learned that the blue-eyed, blonde-haired Corporate Jerod is an übermensch.

We saw Senses Fail at Jannus Landing this weekend and then found ourselves wandering an abandoned mall. I think zombies were present, I’m not entirely sure.

We had a pre-recorded phone interview with the band City Lights. To no fault of City Lights, the interview turned out awkward because of several reasons which we highlight in the Massive Media section. But, David the Day will redeem himself when they meet us in-studio Easter weekend. They kick ass, so be sure to listen to them and the other rockin’ bands we play this week.

Ep #40: Sticky Buns

Stick Martin was on the show today. Well, not the whole show, we had to pre-recorded his interview. Stick is a busy man, and he had some music to play later last night, so he needed to do the interview quick and move on to important stuff. We recorded probably the funniest interview ever in the history of interviews, and then for some reason the system we were recording it on didn’t like us. So, we redid the interview at a much hurried pace, and Stick had to think of all new things to say.

Endless Mike wasn’t with us (except for the interview), so Corporate Jerod took over as fourth mic. The Corporate Report dealt with Shmishshmortions (whatever those are.)

So Something Planet has a new trophy. Some guy gave John J some trouble at the bar the other night, so he exacted revenge Something Planet style. Let’s just say a Cheney mask in the hand is worth more than one of George W. Bush.

We’ve had 4 people disrespect us in some way in the last week or so, so we took some time to talk about them. Including the crazy chick Nadia from Craigslist (as if we didn’t see that one coming). We can’t give out her information due to that whole defamation of character thing, but we know you’d help us bash her if you could Add David the Day to your MySpace to view the post he talked about that sparked such a negative response–it’s in his “About Me” section.

As always we found some really awesome bands to include on the show, including Soulfound who’s show we went to over the weekend. They are one of the most energetic bands I’ve ever seen. Congrats to ourselves for our 10th week in a row doing the podcast. Yay! Besides a drug addiction, JohnJ says he hasn’t kept with anything else for 10 weeks in a row… haha just kidding. Maybe.

Nah, but seriously, it not only was a good show, it was a FUN show! We invited our friends and fans out and all gathered ’round as we told ghost stories during mysteriousnesses (with the lights off), listened to the Something Planet House-Band Tony VanderVanden-Eynden (sp? haha) rock the house with the “Something Planet Theme Song” and other various tunes throughout the night, ate pizza, talked with all of our friends on the mic and phone, and also had to keep Corporate Jerod from sabotaging our recording equipment (FIGHT THE LAW!)

By the way… when you get to mysteriousnesses, turn off all the lights and listen to it by yourself. You won’t be able to sleep… like me last night. After a night of ghost stories and a right-before-bed helping of Dean Koontz’s Odd Thomas I had trouble catching some ZZZs

Mothman is perhaps the creepiest Mysterousnesses segment we’ve had yet. You’ll have trouble sleeping after this one… I swear.

And the horoscopes are to die for… in fact, I think that was one of the destiny predictions this week. Oops.

Hey everyone!

We have an awesome show to present to you this week. First off, Justin from the band Weaksauce joined us as a guest, and belted out some a-mazing acoustic performances for us. He brought beer and got himself and John a little tipsy, but it only added to the overall flavor to the show.

We talked about peeing outdoors, crazy Catholic priests acting like Baptists, and alien abductions (creepy). So please download and comment! We’re getting better! We did a bunch of sound checks and the quality of this podcast is infinitely better. This podcast was also only 1 hour and 20 minutes or so, and we flowed a lot better! As always, please comment or send us stuff for the show.

It was a great show, and a great experience. It also was a little long. We’ll be shortening the length in future casts, but we had a lot of great stuff to talk about this time around so, forgive us.

In terms of audio, it came out a little rough. We’ll be doing better sound checks in the future (oops!).
